Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as older Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana loves tangos. She also loves operas and any form dramatic performance. Ana started learning how to sing and play music at an early age together with her mom. She received more formal singing instruction when she reached the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a student, and as a young professional within Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups as well as choruses. Following her move from Mexico to the United States around 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She performs solo Latin American music for private events and also as part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. She has been involved with a number of local initiatives, both as a teacher and performer because of her enthusiasm for music and arts. Ana was also a part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can help younger generations keep the tradition alive.
