Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington in Ohio, left high school, and relocating in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. Even though she had financial difficulties in 2001, her debut came in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main character for two seasons and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace has worked alongside Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, wanted to move into film. In 2007, she starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. She appeared in 2013's seventh season Californication. She plays Faith, a groupie who is a muse for the stars, and draws the eye of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Gyllenhaal is a member of her family and is the elder sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in the films of her father as an adolescent. Together with her brother she was also as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal won critical praise for both her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002), the erotic drama about romance as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She was also nominated by The Golden Globe Award. The actress gained more attention after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercials she appeared in in the year 2006. Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Some of her other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014 and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the title character. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
